Narsipatnam: The New Year calendar of the ‘Number One’ Telugu daily was unveiled on Monday by Narsipatnam DSP Pothireddy Srinivasa Rao. On this occasion, he congratulated the management and journalists of the ‘Number One’ daily. He said that newspapers play a crucial role in conveying government schemes to the people. He also urged newspapers to act transparently while bringing public issues to the notice of officials and public representatives. Further, he appealed to people to celebrate this Sankranti joyfully by organizing programmes rooted in culture and tradition, without indulging in any anti-social activities. In view of the Sankranti festival, DSP Srinivasa Rao also requested those traveling from distant places by vehicles to follow traffic rules and reach their destinations safely.
