A tragic road accident occurred on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Saturday night, claiming two lives and leaving five others injured. The incident took place near Pocharam in Sangareddy district and turned a family outing into a heartbreaking tragedy.
According to details, a family from Simhapuri Colony in Borampet had gone to the Nehru Zoological Park along with their relatives to spend time together. After enjoying the day at the zoo until evening, they started their return journey in a car. While approaching Pocharam on the ORR, the car reportedly went out of control. Due to high speed, the vehicle overturned multiple times and plunged down from the ORR.
In the accident, two passengers, Mounika (36) and Naveen (30), died on the spot due to severe injuries. Five others traveling in the same car — Hariprasad, Harsha, Susrutha, Amrutha, and Agastya — suffered serious injuries. Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and carried out rescue operations. The injured were shifted to a private hospital in Patancheru for treatment. Doctors stated that the condition of Susrutha is critical.
Police confirmed that there were seven people in the car at the time of the accident and all of them were returning from the zoo. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway. Preliminary findings suggest that overspeeding was the main cause of the accident.
Meanwhile, another major accident was narrowly avoided in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district. In Chityal mandal, a private school bus carrying students caught fire suddenly near Jukal village. The alert driver immediately stopped the bus and evacuated the children. All 15 students escaped safely. Within minutes, the bus was completely engulfed in flames and was reduced to ashes. Initial reports indicate that a short circuit may have caused the fire.
