In a significant political development in Telangana, supporters of former MLC and Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha secured a decisive victory in the Vaddeplly Municipality of Jogulamba Gadwal district during the recent municipal elections. Out of the total 10 wards, candidates backed by Kavitha won 8 seats, taking clear control of the municipality.
The candidates contested under the ‘Lion’ symbol of the All India Forward Bloc party. Though they ran in an independent style campaign, the political backing and strategic support from Kavitha played a crucial role in their success. The remaining two wards were won by the Congress party (1) and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (1).
After parting ways with the BRS, Kavitha has been actively working through Telangana Jagruthi, focusing on social initiatives and public outreach programs. She has also announced plans to launch her own political party in the near future. With the municipal election notification being released in the meantime, she aligned with the All India Forward Bloc to field her supporters in the polls.
During the campaign in Vaddeplly, the focus remained on local civic issues such as drinking water supply, road development, drainage systems, and improvement of public amenities. The candidates assured voters of accessible and transparent governance.
