The ‘Meekosam – Public Grievance Redressal Forum’ was held on Monday at the Tirupati District Police Headquarters, under the supervision of District Superintendent of Police L. Subbarayudu. People from across the district attended the programme and presented their grievances directly to the SP, who listened to each complaint and issued immediate instructions for action.
The programme created an open platform for citizens to interact directly with senior police officials and seek solutions to long-pending issues. District SP L. Subbarayudu personally heard every complaint with attention and directed the concerned officers to initiate prompt legal action wherever required. He made it clear that there should be no delay in addressing public grievances.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Subbarayudu said it was encouraging to see people placing their trust in the police system and coming forward with their problems. He stressed that resolving complaints quickly and fairly is a key responsibility of the police. Special priority, he said, must be given to issues faced by persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and women, ensuring their cases are handled sensitively and without delay.
The SP underlined that justice delayed is justice denied and reminded officers that legal matters must be handled with seriousness and accountability. He instructed all officers to follow up on complaints regularly and keep complainants informed about the progress of their cases.
During the ‘Meekosam’ programme held on Monday, a total of 101 complaints were received. The grievances included land disputes, family-related issues, cheating cases, harassment complaints, property disputes, and cybercrime-related matters. Each complaint was officially registered and forwarded to the respective police units for inquiry and resolution as per the law.
SP Subbarayudu noted that the public grievance forum has helped bring the police closer to the common people. He said the main objective of the programme is to provide a single platform where citizens can voice their concerns without having to visit multiple offices or repeatedly approach police stations. He added that peaceful law and order in society can be ensured only when people’s problems are addressed effectively.
The programme was attended by the Additional SP, Circle Inspectors from various divisions, and other police officers, who actively participated in recording complaints and guiding the public through the process. Officials assured complainants that their issues would be taken up on priority and resolved in a transparent manner.
The SP concluded by stating that such public grievance redressal programmes would be conducted regularly with the sole aim of delivering justice to the people. He reassured citizens that the police department stands firmly on the side of the public and encouraged people to come forward without fear to report their problems.
