Anakapalli SP Tuhin Sinha Conducts Annual Inspections, Orders Strong Action Against Drug Networks

Anakapalli SP Tuhin Sinha conducted annual inspections at Krishnadevipeta and Golugonda police stations, reviewed station performance

As part of efforts to improve policing standards and strengthen law enforcement, Anakapalli District Superintendent of Police (Anakapalli SP) Tuhin Sinha conducted annual inspections at Krishnadevipeta and Golugonda police stations on Wednesday. The visit focused on reviewing station performance, pending cases, record maintenance, and measures taken to prevent crime, especially drug-related offences.

During the inspection, Narsipatnam Rural Circle Inspector L. Revathamma, Krishnadevipeta SI V. Rushikeshwara Rao, and Golugonda SI P. Rama Rao welcomed the SP and briefed him on local law and order conditions.

Detailed Review of Records and Pending Cases

SP Tuhin Sinha carefully examined police station premises and checked the condition of offices, records, and storage areas. He reviewed pending investigation files, case disposal rates, and the way registers and digital records were being maintained. The SP stressed that proper documentation and timely investigation are essential to build public trust in the police system.

He directed officers to clear long-pending cases without delay and ensure that investigations are carried out in a fair and transparent manner. He also advised station staff to update records regularly and follow standard procedures strictly.

Zero Tolerance Towards Drug Smuggling and Illegal Liquor

A major focus of the inspection was on ganja smuggling, illegal liquor brewing, and narcotics sales. The SP instructed officers to act firmly against such activities and destroy the entire network behind them, not just individual offenders.

He said drug trafficking poses a serious threat to society, especially to youth, and cannot be treated lightly. Officers were told to strengthen intelligence gathering, conduct surprise checks, and coordinate with other stations to prevent the movement of illegal substances through the district.

Emphasis on Cyber Crime Awareness and Women’s Safety

SP Tuhin Sinha highlighted the growing need for cyber crime awareness among the public. He directed police personnel to educate people about online frauds, financial scams, and safe digital practices through meetings, awareness programs, and village-level interactions.

Special emphasis was placed on women’s safety initiatives, including the promotion of the ‘Shakti App’, which is designed to provide quick assistance to women in distress. The SP asked officers to explain the app’s features clearly to women and encourage them to use it.

He also instructed police to spread awareness about laws related to women’s protection and ensure that complaints are handled with sensitivity and urgency.

CCTV Coverage and Community Policing

As part of crime prevention strategies, the SP advised officers to focus on installing CCTV cameras in villages and at major junctions. He said CCTV surveillance plays a key role in both preventing crimes and identifying offenders quickly.

The SP also stressed the importance of community policing, urging officers to involve local residents in maintaining law and order. He said cooperation between police and the public helps in early identification of problems and improves overall safety.

Visit to Bheemavaram Check Post

Later, SP Tuhin Sinha visited the Bheemavaram check post and reviewed security arrangements there. He instructed the staff to remain alert at all times to prevent ganja transportation and other illegal activities.

The SP directed personnel to check every vehicle thoroughly and ensure that no suspicious movement goes unnoticed. He warned against negligence in duty and reminded staff that public safety should always be the top priority.

Instructions on Night Patrols and Monitoring Repeat Offenders

To strengthen crime control, the SP ordered intensified night patrolling and regular inspections, especially in vulnerable areas. He also directed officers to keep continuous surveillance on history-sheeters and repeat offenders.

According to the SP, regular monitoring and visible police presence during night hours help reduce crimes and create a sense of security among residents.

Polite Behaviour Towards Complainants

Anakapalli SP Tuhin Sinha stressed that police stations are public service centers and should be welcoming to citizens. He instructed staff to treat complainants politely, listen patiently to their issues, and provide immediate assistance wherever possible.

He said respectful behaviour builds confidence among people and encourages them to approach the police without fear.

Interaction With Police Staff

During the visit, the Anakapalli SP interacted closely with police personnel at both stations. He enquired about their working conditions, challenges, and personal issues. The SP responded positively to their concerns and assured support wherever required.

He appreciated the efforts of officers who are working sincerely under challenging conditions and encouraged them to continue their service with dedication and discipline.

Strengthening Policing Standards

Officials said such inspections help improve accountability, efficiency, and transparency within the police force. By reviewing ground-level issues directly, senior officers can guide staff more effectively and ensure better implementation of policies. The Anakapalli district police administration aims to strengthen law enforcement through regular inspections, public engagement, and strict action against crime.
